One Fewer Permit to Worry About If You're an International Student on Co-op
As of April 1, 2026, eligible post-secondary international students no longer need a separate work permit for co-op placements or internships required by their program. One study permit now covers it. If you had a pending co-op work permit application, IRCC is withdrawing it for you, no action needed.
