Canadian immigration consulting

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Find answers to the most commonly asked questions surrounding our services.

What does RCIC mean?

Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) — licensed by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants, which regulates immigration and citizenship consultants in Canada. Some licensees, including RCIC-IRB holders, are also qualified to represent clients before the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB), Canada's largest independent administrative tribunal. Learn more at college-ic.ca.

Note: Providing paid Canadian immigration advice without a licence from the College, a Canadian law society, or the Chambre des notaires du Québec is a punishable offence.

Why should I hire an authorized immigration and citizenship representative?

Only authorized representatives can legally charge a fee for immigration or citizenship help. Using an unauthorized representative, in Canada or abroad, can result in IRCC returning or refusing your application.

An authorized representative can:

  • Advise you on your immigration or citizenship options
  • Help you choose the right program
  • Prepare and submit your application
  • Communicate with the Government of Canada on your behalf
  • Represent you in an application or hearing

You're not required to hire a representative — beware of fraudulent ones. Learn more at canada.ca.

Are you authorized to represent me in Quebec's immigration procedures?

No. We are not recognized by Quebec's Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration.

Only these paid representatives are authorized in Quebec:

  • Lawyers in good standing with the Barreau du Québec
  • Notaries in good standing with the Chambre des notaires du Québec
  • Individuals specially authorized by either body
  • Immigration consultants registered with the Registre québécois des consultants en immigration

What can I expect during a consultation with the RCIC?

An initial consultation is a chance to talk with our team about your situation, or a loved one's. The RCIC will ask both yes/no and open-ended questions to understand your history, goals, and needs — and how we can best help.

What will we talk about during our consultation?

We will discuss your current situation, goals, challenges, concerns, and other immigration topics relevant to your case.

Disclaimer: Information shared during a consultation reflects the law as of that date. Immigration policies change, and details may later be updated, cancelled, or removed — outside our control. Always verify current details with official sources before making decisions.

Where does the consultation take place?

Consultations are available virtually or in person, by appointment.

Virtual consultations happen in real time via Microsoft Teams, wherever you are. In-person consultations take place at our office in León, Guanajuato, Mexico — details are shared once your appointment is confirmed.

Choose your preferred format when booking.

How do I prepare for a virtual consultation?

Some tips for success:

  • Choose a quiet, distraction-free space
  • Charge your device and check your internet connection
  • Get familiar with Microsoft Teams (desktop or mobile app works best)
  • Sign on a few minutes early
  • Have your questions and documents ready
  • Be patient with occasional technical issues

What's your consultation fee?

Transparency matters in everything we do. Pricing is the same for Canadian and international clients.

Business Hours Consultation — CAD $152.00

One hour with our team, available:

  • Monday–Friday, 9 AM–7 PM
  • Saturday, 9 AM–1 PM
  • Sunday: closed

Times follow León, Guanajuato, Mexico (Central Standard Time, GMT-6).

Fees are quoted in Canadian dollars and invoiced in Mexican pesos (MXN) plus IVA (Mexico's value-added tax), converted at the exchange rate published by Banco de México (Banxico) on the invoice date.

We reserve the right to change prices without notice — but if you've requested a consultation and haven't paid yet, we honour the price as of your inquiry date.

Where can I find your immigration services' price list?

We don't post a price list online. Fees are based on value, not a flat rate, reflecting factors like case type, market rates, overall risk, and your specific goals and budget.

A fair price commitment: during your consultation, we'll openly discuss your needs and expectations upfront. If you'd like to move forward, you'll receive a tailored quote.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept several payment methods. Credit card payments are processed through a secure Stripe payment link; Interac e-Transfers and bank wires are sent directly through your own bank.

  • Interac e-Transfer (within Canada)
  • Domestic and international bank transfers
  • International credit cards
  • Cash, for in-person consultations in León
